The Wawa locations in Northampton and Lower Southampton will no longer be open from midnight to 5 a.m., a representative for the chain said, according to reports.
Both stores were robbed at gunpoint on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 17 and 18, and a $10,000 reward is offered for information that leads to the suspect's arrest, as Daily Voice has reported.
As well, two stores in Center City Philadelphia will close permanently, reports indicate. Wawa had previously indicated it would reassess plans to expand in greater Philadelphia due to safety concerns.
In one high-profile incident at a Mayfair location on Sept. 26, a large group of teens descended on the store, overwhelming staff and damaging property, Daily Voice has reported.
Despite the closures, the convenience store chain has told the Philadelphia Inquirer that it will continue to "continue to invest in and support" the city "in many ways."
The company has maintained a presence in greater Philly since 1902, when it existed as a dairy farm in Delaware County, according to its website.
